He joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served on HMCS Cayuga and HMCS Athabascan during the Korean War. Francis was a member of Regina Legion Branch 1 before he passed away on September 5, 1990. MURPHY, Michael P. WWI & WWII Michael was born on August 2, 1898 in Grand Coulee. He joined the Army and served in England during World War I and also served during World War II. Michael was a member of Regina Legion Branch 1 before he passed away on April 14, 1978. MURRAY, John Andrew WWI John was born in Saltcoats on March 22, 1897. He joined the Army in September 1914 and served in Europe with the Lord Strathcona’s Horse. In a letter dated June 3, 1915, he wrote, “I am leaving for the front tomorrow.” John was killed in action on March 30, 1918 at Moreuil Wood in Amiens, France.
