Six brothers from the Munro family were members of the Canadian Armed Forces: George, Allan, Peter, Arthur and Robert enlisted between 1940 and 1943 and John enlisted in 1949, prior to the Korean War. Robert enlisted in Regina in March 1943 as a Royal Canadian Army Gunner, stationed in Regina. Doctors discovered a spot on his lung so by the time he was cleared for action in 1945, the war had ended. Robert passed away on January 7, 2002. MUNROE, K. G. WWII K. G. Munroe was born on September 29, 1923 in Oyen, Alberta. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in October 1942 and served as a Flight Sergeant in Canada and the United Kingdom until leaving the service in August 1946. He married and became a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362. MURPHY, Albert Joseph WWII Albert was born in Regina on December 14, 1923. He joined the Army and served in England with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals during World War II. Albert was a member of Richmond Legion Branch 209 before his death on November 11, 1973.
