She joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corps on June 21, 1942 and served in Canada until May 14, 1946. Private Merrifield was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the War Medal 1939-45. Edith passed away in 2011. METCALF, W. D. WWII W. D. Metcalf was born in Tantallon, Saskatchewan on January 20, 1921. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in February 1942 and served as a Leading Aircraftman in Canada and the United Kingdom before leaving the service in October 1946. He married and became a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362. METHERAL, A. L. PEACETIME A. L. Metheral was born on August 9, 1933 in Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on November 23, 1959 and served until he left the service on March 23, 1989 as Master Warrant Officer. He married and became a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362.
