The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 335 McTAGUE (THOMPSON), Carol WWII Carol was born on October 30, 1920 in the Elmore district. She enlisted in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps on October 16, 1941 and served overseas from October 27, 1942 to October 21, 1945. Carol served in Italy from D-Day until March 22, 1945. MEACHEM, Dale Clifford SPECIAL DUTY AREA Dale was born in 1946 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in December 1964, trained at HMCS Cornwallis and was based at HMCS Shearwater (Air Division). In 1966, Dale joined the VS880 Squadron at Shearwater, having served on Canada’s aircraft carrier, the Bonaventure in Canada and on the high seas. Dale served until 1968 then pursued a career in aviation. He is a member of Arborfield Legion Branch 203. MEARNS, D. D. WWII D. D. Mearns was born in Scotland on August 8, 1921. He enlisted in the Army in November 1940 and served with the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers in Canada and United Kingdom. Corporal Mearns left the service on September 24, 1945. He married and became a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362.
