The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 331 McKENZIE, Render WWI Render was a bank manager in Oxbow, Saskatchewan before joining the Army during World War I. He served as a Major In the Canadian Infantry and was killed in action on August 8, 1918 at the age of 39. He is buried in the Demuin British Cemetery. McLAREN, Samuel Eldon WWII Samuel was born in 1917 in Dundalk, Ontario. He joined the Royal Canadian Engineers in Saskatoon on July 17, 1941 and the age of 24. He trained in Dundurn and was in Chilliwack, British Columbia for five months in 1943. During the summer of 1944, Samuel went overseas on the Louis Pasteur and landed in England where he served as well is in France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He was not wounded while in active combat. Samuel also served in the Army of Occupation then returned to Canada on the Queen Mary. Samuel married Mary Hardy on March 28, 1942 and was discharged in Regina on December 18, 1945. Samuel was a member of Davidson Legion Branch 51 before he passed away in 1995. McLEAN, H. V. WWII H. V. McLean was born in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan on December 26, 1922. He enlisted in the Army in 1943 and served in Canada with the 122nd Unit of PA. Sergeant McLean left the service in February 1945. He married and became a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362.
