The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 317 MARSHALL, Cella Eileen WWII Cella was born in 1916 in Semans, Saskatchewan. She joined the Women’s Division of the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Ontario with the Meteorological Division. Cella passed away in 2007. MARSHALL, Gordon Charles WWII Gordon was born on June 21, 1920 in Castor, Alberta. He joined the Army in April 1943 and served as a Private until leaving the service in 1944. Gordon married Mildred and he joined Fort Qu’Appelle Legion Branch 35 before transferring to Nutana Legion Branch 362 in 1993. MATECHUK, Shannon AFGHANISTAN Shannon was born on December 26, 1968 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Canadian Forces as an Armour Officer on June 12, 1987 and subsequently graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada in May 1991. He then completed Armour Officer training and was posted to the Royal Canadian Dragoons at Canadian Forces Base Petawawa in Ontario on January 6, 1992. He was promoted to his current rank on July 7, 2007. Major Matechuk served in Somalia in 1992 as Troop Leader and in Afghanistan from 2009 to 2010 as Company Commander. He retired in November 2010.
