His plane was shot down over Germany and he was killed in action on July 29, 1944 at the age of 26. LOWNSBROUGH, Russell WWII Russell was born on August 11, 1924. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served during World War II. Russell was a member of Carnduff Legion Branch 216 and served in several positions before he passed away on November 18, 1988.
