The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 293 LETENDRE, John WWI John was born in Lestock. He enlisted in Saskatoon on December 6, 1915 and served with the 65th (SK Battalion) , Canadian Labour Corps, 4th Canadian Labour Battalion. He was declared physically unfit on July 31, 1918 and was killed in action on September 2, 1918. LEWIS, Arthur Scott WWI Arthur enlisted in the Canadian Army during World War I and served as a Private with the Royal Army Service Corps. He was killed in action on May 30, 1918 at the age of 33 and he is buried in the Ebblinghem Memorial Cemetery. L’HENAFF, Pierre Sylvester “Pete” WWII Pete was born in 1920 in St. Brieux, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army on July 2, 1942 in Regina where he trained for two weeks in the Infantry. He then went to Victoria, British Columbia as a Gunner in the Coast Guard Artillery for 18 months. From there, he went to England and Holland serving as a Rifleman until discharged on March 1, 1946. He served in the Army for a total of 24 months. After the war, Pete worked for many farmers until 1955 then he became a Grain buyer but had to retire at an early age because of a heart attack. He worked for a farmer until he attained his pension age. Pete and his wife Dorothy raised a family of four children and they now reside in Melfort, Saskatchewan. He has been a member of Pathlow Legion Branch 344 for twenty years.
