The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 289 LEACH, Chester John WWI Chester was born on November 14, 1886 in Kemptville, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and served in the Artillery in England, France and Belgium. He suffered through a mustard gas attack at Ypres (Passchendaele) and being with the artillery, was behind the most powerful wave of chemicals, but he survived. Chester married Olive Jane Goodfellow after the war and they raised two children in Prince Albert. He passed away on July 2, 1952 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. LEACH, Harold Chester WWII Harold was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on April 13, 1923. He enlisted in Regina on August 10, 1943 and served with the 3rd Tank Recovery Company, Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, in England, France, Germany, Denmark, Holland and Belgium. He was discharged in Regina on March 23, 1946 and was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, the George VI Medal, and the France and Germany Star. Harold married Anna Gauronski after the war and they raised ten children in Prince Albert. He passed away on June 15, 2009. LEFEBRE, D. H. KOREA D. H. Lefebre was born in Drumheller, Alberta on May 5, 1930. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in September 1953 and served in Canada. Major Lefebre later left the service and was awarded the Centennial Medal. He is a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362.
