He went to university from 1939 to 1943 taking a B.A. in Agriculture and a Canadian Officers Training course in Brockville, Ontario. He enlisted on March 20, 1943 and was stationed at Shilo, Manitoba with the No. 15 Infantry Training Camp until the end of the war. He enlisted in the Pacific war and was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia taking an American weapons course. He was discharged in the fall of 1945 and went back to university. John was a member of Davidson Legion Branch 51 for fifty-two years before his death in 2002. KUZEK, George WWII George was born on April 7, 1920. He enlisted in 1940 in Regina and served in Canada and the United Kingdom during World War II. He was stationed in Saskatchewan at Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Dundurn; in British Columbia in Terrace, Prince Rupert, Victoria, Tofino, Vernon and Port Hardy; Shilo, Manitoba; Toronto, Ontario; and in the United Kingdom. George was discharged in Regina at the end of the war having achieved the ranks of Private, RFN-Rifleman, Lance Corporal and Acting Corporal. He served in the Infantry as well as with the Provost Corps in the United Kingdom. George returned to the family farm and worked in the district for other farmers. He also worked at various jobs until he was hired by the R.M. of Good Lake where he worked as a Caterpillar operator and a road grader operator until his retirement in 1979 due to health issues. George married in 1953 and had six children with Sophie Holowatuik. He passed away on May 24, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. LADEROUTE, Raphael Joseph “Ralph” WWI Ralph was born in 1888 in St. Pierre, Manitoba. He enlisted in the Army in Winnipeg in July 1918 and attained the rank of Captain while serving during World War I. Ralph returned to farming in the Creelman, Saskatchewan area following the war.
