The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 267 KIMLER, John “Cecil” WWII Cecil was born on July 20, 1922. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941, received his Wings in 1942 and transferred to the U.S.A.F. in 1943. Cecil was awarded the Silver Medal, the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was discharged in 1945. Cecil passed away on August 24, 1985. KING, Edward WWI & WWII Edward was born in 1925 in Cochin but also lived in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army on May 10, 1945 and served in England and Europe with the Regina Rifle Regiment, the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and the Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary’s). He was discharged on November 5, 1945. Edward was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, and the War Medal 1939-45. Edward was also the Vice President of the Saskatchewan Métis Veterans Association for seven years. KNIGHT, J. G. WWII J. G. Knight was born in Owen Sound, Ontario on April 19, 1920. He joined the Army on October 1, 1940 and served in the United Kingdom and Northwest Europe. Private Knight left the service on July 24, 1945. He married and has been a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362.
