He volunteered for Japan after the war in Europe was over but while on leave in August, the war in Japan ended as well. Anthony was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion before he passed away in 1979. HUCULAK, Max Russell WWII Max was born on July 25, 1925 in Radville, Saskatchewan. He enlisted on November 17, 1944 and served during World War II. Private Huculak left the service on September 12, 1946. Max remained single and is a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362. HUCULAK, Michael William WWII Michael was born in 1920 in Guernsey, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army during World War II and served in North Africa, England, Sicily, Italy and Holland with the 89th Battery, 1st Light Anti-aircraft Regiment. He also later served with the Lanark and Renfrew Infantry. Michael was mentioned in news dispatches and was awarded the Purple Heart when he was wounded in Sicily. He also received five other metals. Michael was a member of Prince Albert Legion Branch 2 for twenty-five years before he passed away in 1994.
