The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 19 ALLAN (DICKEY), Kathleen Mary “Kaye” WWII Kaye was born in Heward, Saskatchewan in 1914. She enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps in 1943, trained at Camp Borden then was posted to Windsor, Nova Scotia with No. 20 Canadian General Hospital. On May 3, 1944, she sailed from Halifax to Liverpool, England but her unit was moved to Belgium on December 16, 1944. Shortly after arriving in Belgium, Kaye was re-assigned to No. 7 Canadian General Hospital and she also served in Italy. Kaye boarded the Queen Elizabeth on December 2, 1945 and sailed to New York after which she returned to Canada and moved to Prince George. Kaye and her husband, Donald Allan, moved to Invermere, British Columbia in 1971 and retired there. Kaye was a member of Invermere Legion Branch 71 before she passed away on December 28, 2011. ALLAN, Murray D. SPECIAL DUTY AREA & PEACETIME Murray was born in Creelman, Saskatchewan in 1950. He joined the Militia in Regina in 1968 and joined the Regular army as an Infantry Officer in 1973. Murray served in battalions in Petawawa and London, Ontario, at Camp Gagetown in New Brunswick and Edmonton, Alberta with the Canadian Airborne Regiment. He had other postings in Ontario at Cornwall and Toronto, in Regina, Saskatchewan and Germany. He also did instructional tours in Camp Borden, Ontario as well as at Camp Wainwright and Camp Gagetown. Murray participated in peacekeeping missions in Cyprus and Bosnia and was an inspector/investigator on a mission in Afghanistan/Pakistan (1988-89). He transferred to the Reserves in 2001 and was on the staff of the NATO multinational headquarters in Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2009. He retired in 2010. Murray has been a member of Creelman Legion Branch 299 for ten years. ALLAN, Peter Ralph PEACETIME Peter was born in Fillmore, Saskatchewan in 1951. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in Regina, Saskatchewan in May 1969, did his basic training at CFB Cornwallis in Nova Scotia and did his Air Traffic Controller course at CFB Uplands, graduating in December 1969. Peter has been a member of Stoughton Legion Branch 133 for two years.
