The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 201 FRENCH, Hugh Benjamin WWII Hugh was born in 1921. He enlisted at #12 District Depot and served in the Canadian Army in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe from 1939 to 1945. Lance Sergeant French was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. Hugh passed away in 1950. FRISWELL, Bryan T. PEACETIME Bryan was born in 1929. He trained as a Military Mechanist in Chatham, England with the Royal Engineers before being posted to MacKinnon Road in Kenya, East Africa in December 1948. Corporal Friswell traveled there from England on the troop ship Empire Ken and was later posted to a two-man detachment at Manyani near Tsavo. He returned to England in January 1950 on the Empire Test troop ship and was demobilized at Aldershot. Bryan immigrated to Canada in September 1953 with his wife Judith and came to Saskatchewan in 1968 and Nipawin in 1983. FURNEAUX, Donald WWII Donald joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1939 and served as a Leading Aircraftman until his discharge in 1945.
