The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 189 FERGUSSON, David “Ross” WWII Ross was born on April 6, 1920 in the district of Rocanville, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on August 6, 1941 and served as the cook in the canteen in Scarborough, England. Corporal Fergusson was discharged on February 27, 1946 and was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and the Defence Medal. He married and had four children. He moved to British Columbia where he worked for several years at a sawmill then worked for the Municipality of Richmond before returning to his hometown of Rocanville. Ross loved to garden and look after his yard and his other interests were baking, playing several musical instruments, dancing and playing cards. He was a member of Rocanville Legion Branch 20 for thirtyfive years before he passed away on June 30, 2014 in the Moosomin Long Term Care Facility. FERRIDGE, Charles Alan PEACETIME Charles served with the Canadian Army and the Royal Canadian Air Force on bases in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta as well as four years in Germany. He retired in 1985 with the rank of Major after devoting almost thirty years to the service of his country. FIELD, Frederick Henry WWII Frederick enlisted in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve in April 1943. He served as Able Seaman and was discharged in November 1945.
