The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 181 EYERS, Harvey Vincent WWII Harvey was born on April 10, 1923 in Gainsborough, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army during World War II and served with the Saskatoon Light Infantry (Machine Gun), and the West Nova Scotia Regiment in Canada, England, Italy, France, Belgium and Holland. He was wounded twice. Harvey was awarded several Medals, including the Italy Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the Battle of Britain Medal and the 193945 Star. Harvey was a member of Carnduff Legion Branch 216 for sixty-seven years. EYERS, Kenneth William WWII Kenneth enlisted for World War II on May 18, 1943 and was discharged on March 25, 1946 after serving in Canada and in the United Kingdom. He was awarded the Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. Kenneth passed away in 1993. FAILLE, Nicholas “Mick” WWII Mick was born on September 1, 1917 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He was orphaned at the age of two and reestablished in the La Flèche area of Saskatchewan in the mid1920s. Mick enlisted in the South Saskatchewan Regiment in 1939 and started active duty in England in 1940. In 1943, Mick married Elsie Waring of England and they had one son. After the war, Mick remained in England and was employed by the Eastman Kodak Company in Harrow. He retired in 1981 and a few years later, Mick and Elsie moved to Fairlight near Hastings. He passed away on September 2, 2006.
