The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 173 EBERHARDT, Arnold Ernest WWII Arnold was born in Lang, Saskatchewan on December 30, 1924. He joined the Infantry in Regina in 1943 and became a member of the North Shore New Brunswick Regiment. He took his training at Fort Garry Barracks in Winnipeg and his advanced training at Camp Shilo. In July 1944, he sailed on the Empress of Scotland and landed in Greenock, Scotland to begin his duties overseas. He saw service in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany where he spent time after the war as part of the Occupational Forces. He returned home on June 24, 1946 and began his career in carpentry in 1948. In 1961, he returned to his home in Lang where he continued to work in his trade. Arnold passed away on August 28, 2003. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. EDGER, William “Bill” WWII Bill joined the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps in 1943 and served during World War II. Private Edger was discharged in 1946. Bill passed away in 1981. EDIS, Nettie WWII Nettie joined the Army during World War II and served as a Private with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps. She served from 1939 to 1945.
