The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 157 DICKIE, Ross WWII Ross enlisted in the Army in World War II. He served in Normandy and Germany with the Saskatchewan Horse 16/22. DICKINSON, William WWI William was born on June 3, 1875. He joined the 5th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force on April 8, 1916 and served as a stretcher bearer in Canada, Britain and France during World War I. His wartime experiences left him badly shell shocked. Lance Corporal Dickinson was awarded the Military Medal and was discharged on April 24, 1919. William was Reeve in the Rural Municipality of Nipawin from 1915-1916 and from 1920-1921. As an early settler in the district, he made application for Homestead entry on SW 3-50-15 W2 on August 16, 1910. William passed away on February 12, 1939. DILWORTH, Herman Clifton WWII Herman was born in Carmichael in 1919. He joined the Army and served with the Canadian Scottish Regiment in The Netherlands where he was killed in action in 1944. He is currently buried at the Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery. Herman was killed a few months after his older brother was killed.
