The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 149 DALZIEL, Samuel “Duke” WWII Duke enlisted in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve in 1944. He served as Able Seaman (gunner rating) on HMCS Port Hope in the North Atlantic on escort duty. Duke was discharged in 1945. DANIEL, Joseph Henry WWI Joseph enlisted in the Army in 1916 and served 209th Battalion during World War I. He was discharged in 1919. Joseph was a member of Gull Lake Legion Branch 119 and was also Past President and Secretary. DARROW, Lee SPECIAL DUTY AREA & PEACETIME Lee joined the Canadian Army and has served in Bosnia and Afghanistan. He was with the Saskatchewan Dragoons from 19942004; the Lord Strathcona’s Horse from 2004-2007; in Bosnia from 2000-2001 and again in 2003; and in Afghanistan in 2006 where he fought in the first battle of Panjwayi against the Taliban. Apart from the Saskatchewan Dragoons, Lee has served with 1PPCLI, 2PPCLI and MN BG.
