The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 147 DALGLEISH, Charles Rieve WWI Charles was born in Scotland in 1891. He came to Canada at the age of 22 and filed for Homestead on December 20, 1913 in the Nadeauville area. When war broke out, he was one of the first from the area to enlist. He was a rancher when he enlisted on December 22, 1914 in Maple Creek and he served as a Private in the Canadian Cavalry Brigade, Machine Gun Squadron. While serving in France, he was fatally hit by shrapnel on April 1, 1918 while taking several horses to water in the Castell Woods near Amiens. He is currently buried at the Namps-au-Val British Cemetery in France. His name appears on the Nadeauville Monument, 18 miles north of Thompkins. DALZIEL, Dave WWII Dave enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942. He served as Warrant Officer 2 (air gunner wings) in Canada and England. Dave was discharged in 1944. DALZIEL, Ken WWII Ken joined the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve in 1942. He served as Stoker 1st Class on HMCS Red Deer on escort duty in the North Atlantic. Ken was discharged in 1945.
