The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 137 CRAVEN, Elmer William WWII Elmer’s family had moved to Aylsham in 1918 and he was born on July 11, 1922. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on June 24, 1942 and served as an Aero engine technician. Corporal Craven served until March 29, 1946 but he re-enlisted on October 15, 1954 and was released on December 4, 1972. Elmer passed away on December 9, 1984. CRAVEN, Stuart Melvin WWII Stuart was born on November 26, 1917. He joined the Canadian Army in April 1942 but spent only a few months in the service. He was compassionately discharged a few months later in June on the death of his father. Private Craven returned home to run the family farm near Aylsham. He passed away on December 25, 2007. CREELMAN, Samuel Wallace WWI & WWII Samuel was born in December 1888 in Nova Scotia. He joined the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1914 and served as a Sapper until his release in 1918. After the war, he came to Nipawin in 1924 and raised his family there. During World War II, he was deemed too old at age 52 for active overseas duty. He then served as a guard at a prisoner of war camp from 1940 to 1945. Samuel passed away on May 14, 1966.
