The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 117 CLARKE, William Davis WWI William was born on December 5, 1898. He joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force in 1917 and served until 1919 with the 43rd Battalion, Cameron Highlanders, and the 8th Battalion Little Black Devils. William died on October 17, 1951. CLAY, Albert R. WWII Albert joined the Army in April 1942 and served as a Private with the Royal Canadian Artillery until his release in 1944. CLAY, Albert Sr. WWI & WWII Albert was born in 1890 in Chelsea, London, England. He served with the British Expeditionary Force in Belgium and was both wounded and gassed. He came to Nipawin in 1929 and farmed northeast of town. Albert joined the Royal Canadian Artillery in World War II and served as a Lance Corporal. He passed away in 1960.
