The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 105 CARPENTER, Roy WWII Roy joined the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps in 1944 and served as a Private with #1 Platoon, No. 1 Company, in Holland, Belgium and Germany. CARR, James “Jimmy” WWI Jimmy joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force and served during World War I. CARRIÈRE, Pierre WWII Pierre was born at Cumberland House, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army during World War II and served with the South Saskatchewan Regiment in the United Kingdom, France and Belgium. He was wounded in action while serving with the South Saskatchewan Regiment. As a Métis soldier, Pierre suffered with physical injuries that many other soldiers might not have had to endure. Despite his mistreatments, he was known as a strong leader in his community and helped form various projects, one being the Old Folk’s Home. Pierre was president of the Cumberland House Legion Branch.
