His brother, Charles Christie, also enlisted. With his wife, Freda Burr, he raised five children. Adam lived in Saskatoon, SK. CHRISTIE, Charles WWII Charles joined the Army and served as a Corporal during World War Two. His brother, Adam Christie, also enlisted. CHURM, Samuel “Sam” WWI Sam was born on June 30, 1893 to Samuel and Samina Churm in Oaken Gates, Salop, England. He homesteaded north of Plunkett, SK, with Weston Anderson farming the neighbouring land. Sam joined the Army on December 20, 1914 in Humboldt, SK and served in France as a Lance Corporal with the 5th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment. He was killed in action on September 26 or 27, 1916 and is buried at A.I.F. Burial Ground, Flers, France.
