The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 67 CHAMBERS, Richard Eric WWII Richard was born on October 26, 1919 to Samuel Prytherch and Gertrude Elias Chambers of Lloydminster, SK. They homesteaded east of Northminster. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served overseas as a Pilot Officer with the 416th Squadron. Richard was killed in action when his Spitfire was hit by flak near Nijmegen, Netherlands on September 29, 1944. There is a geo-memorial in Saskatchewan named in his honour: Chambers Island in Herbert Lake (74P9) 59 36’ 104o 23’. Richard is buried in the Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, located in Gelderland, Netherlands. CHAMNEY, Potter WWII Potter was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. With his brother, he enlisted and served in World War Two. He was also a brother-inlaw to Grant Marcoux. Potter died in Calgary, Alberta in 1983. CHRISTENSEN, A. WWII A.
