The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 65 BUYCK, Charles “Charlie” WWI Charlie was born in Peoria, Illinois, USA on September 19, 1896. He farmed with his dad, Charlie Sr., in the Viscount, SK district before joining the Army in Regina on October 26, 1917. He served with the 46th Battalion in Canada, England and France, then was discharged on June 19, 1919. After the war, Charlie continued to farm and he raised two children with his wife, Lillian Turcotte. After retiring, they lived in Viscount until Lillian passed away, then Charlie moved to Saskatoon where he resided until his death on March 31, 1976. He was a member of Viscount Legion Branch 271. CAMERON, Gordon L. C. WWII Gordon was born in Davidson, Saskatchewan in 1915 and came to Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1944. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada as an Aero Engine mechanic from 1939-1945 before being discharged as a Flight Sergeant. Gordon was married and was a member of Quill Lake Legion Branch 37 for thirty-five years. He died in 1981 and is buried in Quill Lake Cemetery. CAMP, Don S. WWII Don was born in Canada in 1922. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a Leading Aircraftsman with the North Atlantic Squadron’s Radar Unit in Newfoundland and Canada from 1942-1945. Don died in 2002 and is buried in Quill Lake Cemetery, Saskatchewan.
