The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 55 BLOSS, Frederick William “Fred” WWI Frederick was born on April 17, 1895 in London, England and later became a farmer in the Viscount, SK area. His mother’s name was Anne Bloss and she was originally from London, England. Fred married Alice Underdown, a school teacher at Eltham School, before he enlisted on September 1, 1915 in Saskatoon, SK. He served overseas as a Corporal in the Canadian Infantry with the Saskatchewan Regiment. Frederick was killed at Vimy Ridge, France in 1916 and he is buried at Villers Station Cemetery, Villers-au-Bois, France. Alice later married Alfred Schwartz of Shell Lake, SK. BOWERING, Norman Robert PEACETIME Norman was born in Canada. He enlisted in September 1956 and served as a Private with the Ordnance Corps in Canada and in the Middle East. He was discharged in September 1963. Norman was awarded the United Nations Emergency Force Medal. He later worked as a hoist man at a Saskatchewan potash mine and was a member of Viscount Legion Branch 271. BOWMAN, Frederick August “Fred” WWII Fred was born in Plunkett, SK. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on October 29, 1941, served as a Leading Aircraftman in Canada and England, and was discharged on April 16, 1946. Fred farmed south of Plunkett and was a member of Viscount Legion Branch 271.
