He served as a cook in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Canada and England from 1941-1945. He moved to Alberta after his discharge. SORRELL, Frank WWII Frank was born in Clair, Saskatchewan in 1921. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada and England at Bomber Command from 19411945. He moved to Prince George, British Columbia where he died in 1981. SUNDERLAND, Mervyn WWII Mervyn was born in 1919 in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served in Canada during World War II. After his discharge, he married and had 4 children. He died in 2007 and is buried in Saskatoon. TAYLOR, Bert WWI Bert was born in England. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served as a Private in Canada, England and France during World War I. A farmer who never married, Bert also lived in Saskatoon. TELFORD, Michelle PEACETIME Michelle was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1962. She joined the Royal Canadian Army Reserves and served in Canada with the 737 Communications Troop. Michelle lives in Saskatoon. TUNINGLEY, John E. WWII John was born in England in 1905. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served in Canada, England and France where he was wounded. John died in 1953 and is buried in Kamloops Hillside Cemetery in British Columbia. TUNNINGLEY, May V. WWII May was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1914. She joined the Women’s Division of the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada. She is now 96 years old and lives in Campbell River, British Columbia. During World War I, he served with the Saskatchewan Regiment and the 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles in Canada, England, France and Belgium where he was killed in action in 1916. William, who has no known grave, is commemorated at Vimy Ridge and at Menin Gate, France. WELCH, Bernice WWII Bernice was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. She served in Canada as a Corporal with the Canadian Women's Army Corps for 3 years during World War II. Bernice married and had 9 children. She died in 1980 and is buried in Field, British Columbia.
