He joined the British Army and fought in South Africa during the Boer War. Walter died in March 1979 and he is buried in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. ANDERSON, Leonard WWII Leonard was born in Clair, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served on a mine sweeper along Canada’s east coast. Leonard was married. He died in 1980 and is buried in Clair Cemetery. ANDERSON, Merlin WWII Merlin was born in Clair, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Armed Forces and served from 19421945 in the Merchant Marines on Canada’s west coast and on the Pacific Ocean. Merlin never married. BAKER, Frank WWI Frank joined the Army during World War I. He served as a Private with the 8th Platoon of the 214th Battalion in Canada, England and France. BECK, Glen WWII Glen was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army and served with the Provost Corps in Canada from 1941-1945. Glen married and had two children. He died in 2000 and is buried in Ontario. BELLS, Donald S. WWII Donald was born in Clair, Saskatchewan in 1920. During World War II, he served in the 1st Division of the Royal Canadian Regiment in Canada, England, Italy, Holland and Germany. Donald never married. BLACK, Roy C. WWII Roy was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army and served with the Regina Rifles from 19391945 in Canada, France and Germany. He was married. Roy passed away in 1990 and is buried in Winfield, British Columbia. BROWNSEY (nee STRANGE), Winnifred B. WWII Winnifred was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1920. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada from 1942-1946. Winnifred married and had two children. CASKEY, Russel WWII Russel was born in Clair, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II and served in Canada and on the high seas from 1942-1945. Russel married and had three children. DUGUID, Carol SPECIAL DUTY AREA Carol was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada. She has been a member of Quill Lake Legion Branch 37 for ten years. Carol is married and is a businesswoman. DUGUID, Herbert WWI Herbert was born in Scotland in 1889 and later moved to Canada. He joined the Canadian Army and served with the 5th Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment in Canada, England and France. He was killed in action on September 1, 1918. EARLEY, Archie WWII Archie was born in Clair, Saskatchewan around 1915. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Sergeant and was a mechanic in Canada, Goose Bay and Newfoundland. Archie married and had three children. EARLY, Myrtle WWII Myrtle was born in Clair, Saskatchewan in 1919. She joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corps and served in Canada from 1942-1946. Myrtle married and had four children. She died in 1981 and is buried in the Kenaston Cemetery in Saskatchewan. EARLY, Patricia WWII Patricia was born in Clair, Saskatchewan in 1924. She joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corps and served in Canada from 1944-1946. Patricia married and had five children. She died in 1994 and is buried in Terrace Cemetery in British Columbia. FINGLASS, William Royle BOER WAR William was born in England in 1870 and came to Canada in 1888. He served with the British Army in South Africa for about one year during the Boer War. William died in 1961 and is buried in the Quill Lake Cemetery in Saskatchewan.
