Dan is on The Royal Canadian Legion Viscount Branch Honour Roll. BELL, Grant WWII Grant was born on August 24, 1912 in Plunkett, SK where he took all of his early education before going on to Saskatoon Normal School. He taught first at Glynfield then at Maidstone, SK where he married Emily. They had two daughters. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1940 and was discharged in 1945, after which he was the postmaster in Maidstone until he retired in 1977. He was also the Mayor of Maidstone for twelve years and still resides there. Grant was a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Medal (1977). BELLAMY, Arthur WWII Arthur was born in the Colonsay/Viscount, Saskatchewan area and grew up on a farm. Arthur and his brother, Stanley, both enlisted in the Army, Arthur serving as a Private. Their father, Ernest William, had tried to enlist in Canada in WWI but was rejected. He then went back to England where he joined the Army and served with the Cavalry in France. After Arthur was discharged, he lived and worked in Chilliwack, British Columbia.
