The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 443 WINTERS, Stanley WWII Stanley was born in Young, Saskatchewan, where he also took his schooling. He and his brother, Lyall, joined the Royal Canadian Navy and his brother, Wellesley, joined the Army. After his discharge, he became a guard at the Federal Penitentiary at Prince Albert, SK. He married Irene Dier and they raised one son. Stanley has since died. WINTERS, Wellesley George WWII Andrew was born in Young, Saskatchewan and he went to school there. He joined the Army and served overseas in Italy with the Saskatoon Light Infantry. He was the youngest person to attain the rank of Major. He had two others brothers, Stanley and Lyall, who joined the Royal Canadian Navy. After the war, he worked for Firestone in Saskatoon, SK and continued to work for them in Toronto, ON, where he has since died. He raised two sons with his wife, Betty Bastedo. WOODS, George WWI George joined the Army and served as a Private in World War I. He is listed on the Viscount Legion Honour Roll. Not much is known about him except that he may have been killed in action.
