The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 439 WILLIAMSON, John Samuel Allan “Jack” WWI Jack was born on September 13, 1896 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England. He enlisted in Lanigan, Saskatchewan on April 3, 1916 but was discharged on October 25, 1916, due to medical reasons. He farmed in Plunkett, Saskatchewan and his father’s name was Samuel Allan Williamson. Jack was married and had one child. WILLIAMSON, Joseph Allan “Allan” WWII Allan was born on July 19, 1914 in Plunkett, Saskatchewan and he attended the Badger and Plunkett schools. Prior to his enlistment, he worked on area farms, and at hardware, garage and grocery stores in Plunkett. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in June 1942 and served in World War II. He married Evelyn Morton, who was also in the RCAF, and they raised two children. After his discharge in October 1945, the family moved to BC where he was employed by the Canadian National Railway from 1950 until he retired in July 1979. Edmonton is now their home. Allan’s cousins, Perley, Joe and Lesley Williamson, also enlisted. WILLIAMSON, Joseph “Joe” WWII Joe was born in Plunkett, Saskatchewan. With his brothers, Perley and Les, he enlisted to serve in World War II, as did their cousin, Allan Williamson. Joe joined the Army in 1943 and he married after his discharge.
