He joined the Army on June 6, 1956 and served with RLE Saffe in Canada and Germany. Discharged on December 3, 1957, he farmed in the Viscount area upon his return from military service. He was a Commissionaire for the twelve years prior to his retirement in Saskatoon, SK. Albert had two children with his wife, Lorraine, and he was a member of Viscount Legion Branch 271. He died on January 29, 2007.a WEEKS, Herbert WWI Herbert joined the Army and served in World War I. He was listed in the March 2, 1917 edition of The Viscount Sun as one of the men who had enlisted from the Viscount Area. WELDER, Jacob Tony WWII Jacob was born on January 2, 1920 in Allan, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army on July 11, 1941 and served as a Sapper with the 9th Field Royal Canadian Engineers in Canada and Europe. Discharged in July 1945, he was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal and the 1939-45 Star. Jacob was a member of Viscount Legion Branch 271.
