The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 425 WAGNER, Alfred WWII Alfred took his schooling at Badger School, north of Plunkett, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army and served in World War II. His brother, Edwin, who was also in the Army, was killed in action in Holland. WAGNER, Edwin “Ed” WWII Ed was born in Plunkett, Saskatchewan and he attended the Badger school, just north of Plunkett. His parents are John and Martha Wagner who farmed at SW -6-35-24-W2 for five to six years before moving to BC. Ed farmed on his own for a time before joining the Army and serving overseas as a Corporal with the 1st Hussars, 6th Armoured Regiment of the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps. His brother, Alfred, also enlisted. Ed was killed in action in Holland on February 26, 1945 and is buried at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery near Nijmegen, Netherlands. There is a geo-memorial named in Ed’s honour: Wagner Lake, east of Wollaston Lake, Saskatchewan, at (64L2) 58o 03’ 102o 42’. WAGNER, Glen PEACETIME Glen was born in Viscount, Saskatchewan where he attended school before enlisting. His brother, Rodger, also served in peacetime.
