The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 417 TURNER, Sydney Warner WWI Sydney was born on April 22, 1888 in London, England. He enlisted on June 22, 1916 at Empress, Alberta and had his medical in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. He was 28, single and a farmer when he joined the Army and then served overseas as a Lieutenant with the 212th Battalion during World War I. His father’s name was John. UDELL, Calvin Lane WWII Calvin was born in Viscount, SK on January 22, 1926 and he served in the Army during World War II. He then worked in the trucking industry where he served in many capacities, most notably on the executive, director and standards council of the Canadian Trucking Association. He organized the Canadian Trucking Association National Safety Committee and in 1981, was chosen National Transportation Man of the Year. Calvin was inducted into the Saskatchewan Transportation Hall of Fame in 1989. With his wife, Dorothy, he raised seven children and lived and worked in Saskatoon, SK. He died on October 6, 2005. ULLRICH, Harold WWII Harold was born in Young, Saskatchewan. He served in the Army during World War II and he farmed north of Viscount Beach, in the Young area.
