The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 411 THOEN, Edward WWII Edward was born in Viscount, Saskatchewan and he attended the Morris country school while helping on the farm as he grew up. He served in World War II as did his brothers, Norman and Oliver. With his wife, Marj Drew, he raised three children while living and farming at Birch Hills. He was inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame in North Battleford in 2003. THOEN, Norman WWII Norman was born in Viscount, SK on April 23, 1925 and he took his schooling at Morris country school, south of Viscount. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in World War II. His brothers, Edward and Oliver, also enlisted. Norman married Ruth Hamilton and they raised six daughters. He farmed all his life and just retired in 1996. He now gardens and enjoys his grandchildren. Norman was active in community activities as a Saskatchewan Wheat Pool delegate for over thirty years. THOEN, Oliver Lloyd WWII Oliver was born in Viscount, Saskatchewan and he took his schooling at Morris country school, south of Viscount. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II and his brothers, Norman and Edward, also enlisted. He married Lois Sigfusson and they lived at Wynyard.
