One of six brothers who enlisted for the service, he served in the Army overseas where he lost a leg. After his discharge, he moved to Alberta with his brother, Art. Egon lived and passed away there and he never married. SCHUMAKER, Jake WWII Jake was born in Young, Saskatchewan. He helped on the family farm and went to school at the Farina country school, south of Plunkett, SK. Jake and his five brothers served in World War II, Jake serving overseas in the Army. After his discharge, he married Lena and they raised three children. Jake farmed in Young all his life. SCHUMAKER, Rinhold WWII Rinhold was born in Young, Saskatchewan. He took his schooling at Farina and helped on the family farm before he enlisted in the Army to serve in World War II. One of six brothers to enlist, Rinhold served overseas before being discharged and returning to farming in the Young district. Rinhold married Laura and they raised two children. Rinhold has since passed away.
