The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 363 ROSS, George WWI George was born on December 4, 1881 in Stonehaven, Kincardineshire, England and immigrated to Canada in 1904, homesteading in Saskatchewan’s Glynfield area. He was one of the pioneers who helped build the Brithdir United Church in 1909. George kept bees in the early days and also served on the Hillsley School Board. In 1915, he joined the 65th Infantry Battalion in Regina, SK and later transferred to the 75th Seaforth Highlanders, a Scottish Regiment in the Canadian Army. He was shipped overseas where he attained the rank of Sergeant and won the Military Medal for Bravery in the field. He was gassed which left him as an invalid. George married Grace Fraser and they raised two sons. He died on August 24, 1959. ROSS, Milton WWII Milton joined the Army and served in England during World War II. Milton brought back an English bride when he returned to Canada. He lived and worked in Viscount, SK and was a water ski instructor at a Saskatchewan lake. RUSSELL, Arthur WWII Arthur was born in Jansen, Saskatchewan and moved with his family to the Viscount Area in 1927 where he also attended school. He served in World War II and was one of five siblings who enlisted.
