The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 335 PFEIL, Roman WWII Roman was born in Bruno, Saskatchewan on November 4, 1922. He attended the Kildrum country school, south of Bruno, and worked on the farm until the war. He joined the Army and served as a Private with the Regina Rifles in Germany, England and the Aleutian Islands during World War II. His brother, Jack, also enlisted. After his discharge, Roman became a carpenter in Saskatoon, SK and he retired there. With his wife, Elizabeth Becker, he raised six children and he died on August 3, 1983. PHILIPS, Thomas Edward WWI Thomas was born on July 8, 1897 in St. Charles, Saginaw County, Michigan, USA. He enlisted on September 11, 1916 in Watrous, Saskatchewan to serve in World War I. His father was Thomas Alfred Philips of Wolverine Post Office, SK. After his discharge, Thomas married Alice Hill and he farmed until retirement. They sold the farm and moved into Watrous. PHILLIPS, Robert WWI Robert served in the Army and was listed as one of the men who had fought in World War I, as shown in the March 2, 1917 edition of The Viscount Sun.
