The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 333 PFEIFER, Hector George WWII George was born on March 22, 1922 in Young, Saskatchewan and grew up on farms in various locations between Viscount and Young. During World War II, he served as a Private in the Army. His sister, May, also enlisted. George married Erma (Stahl) Assam and they raised two girls. He lives in Saskatoon, SK. PFEIFER, Violet May WWII May was born in young, Saskatchewan on May 8, 1924 and grew up on farms in various locations between Viscount and Young. She served as a Private in the Army with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps during World War II. Her brother, George, also enlisted. May married a farmer from Kyle, where they reside, and they raised three children. PFEIL, Jacob John “Jack” WWII Jack was born on June 1, 1920 in Bruno, Saskatchewan. He attended the Kildrum county school, south of Bruno, and helped on the farm growing up. Jack and his brother, Roman, both enlisted in the Army, Jack serving as a Private in Germany with the Regina Rifles. He married Agnes Bulatowa, a war bride but on July 27, 1947, he drowned in the river while working for a farmer.
