The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 321 OSTERHOUT, Forbes WWII Forbes was born on October 12, 1920 in Viscount, SK and he went to school in Badger, Logan and Viscount. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, took his basic training in Trenton, ON but served in Canada, as a serious car accident prevented him from going overseas to serve in World War II. His three brothers, Charlie, Floyd and Keith, all enlisted. Forbes raised five children in Edmonton, Alberta with his wife, Ruth and he retired in 1984 after working many years for the Alberta Government. OWEN, Arthur WWII Arthur was a ‘remittance man’ from England. He did odd jobs and helped on farms at harvest time when he lived in Viscount, Saskatchewan. He served in the Army as a Corporal during World War II and married Nellie Smellie of Viscount rather late in life, so they had no family. Arthur enjoyed fishing. He is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon, SK. PADDLE, Dorothy F. WWII Dorothy was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1924. She served with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps for four years in Canada, England, and Holland. Dorothy married, had 2 children, and lives in British Columbia.
