The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 315 NUGENT, Edward Ernest “Ed” WWII Ed was born in Plunkett, SK and he took his schooling there. Growing up, he did his share of farm work before he and four of his siblings enlisted in World War II: Don, Ed and Mary in the Army, George in the RCAF and Ella in the Navy. After the war, he became a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Plains Hospital in Regina, SK. He married Helen Benko and raised three children. NUGENT, George WWII George was born in Plunkett, SK and went to school there. With nine in the family, he did his share of farm work growing up. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in World War II and was one of five siblings who enlisted. Ed, Don and Mary served in the Army while Ella joined the Royal Canadian Navy. George became a Canadian Pacific Railway operator in Lanigan, SK and he married Norma Cranch of Colonsay, with whom he raised three sons. OLSON, Eric Herman WWI Eric was born in the United States. He joined the Canadian Field Artillery and served as a Gunner in the 11th Battery, 3rd Brigade in Canada and France where he was killed in action on September 4, 1918. He is buried in Quéant Road Cemetery in the Nord-Pas de Calais region of France. Eric never married.
