The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 313 NORMANDEAU, Louis Joe WWI Louis served as a Private in the Army in World War I and was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the France and Germany Star. Louis was a member of Viscount Legion Branch 271. NORMANDEAU, Patrick “Pat” WWI Pat was born in St. Urbain, QC on April 3, 1896 then came West with his mother, Aurilie, and his siblings. His father, Henri, had already come and claimed a homestead. Pat joined the Army on July 6, 1918 in Regina, SK and served in Aldershot, England. After Pat returned from the war, he bought some land near his dad then married Germaine Guilmette and raised six children. In the early 1950s, he and Germaine moved to Montreal where he lived until he passed away in August 1965. NUGENT, Donald Frederick “Don” WWII Don was born in 1922 in Plunkett, SK and he went to school there. He was one of five siblings who joined the Forces and served in World War II. George served with the Royal Canadian Air Force, Don, Ed and their sister, Mary, served in the Army, while and his other sister, Ella, was with the Royal Canadian Navy. Don owned and operated the original homestead until his retirement to Watrous in 1980. He died in 1999.
