The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 309 NICKOLSON, Arthur WWI Arthur was born in England but came to Canada and lived in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. He joined the Canadian Army and served with the 5th Platoon and later, the 5th Battalion, 1st Division, in Canada, England, France, and Germany. Arthur was a farmer who never fully recovered from the war years. He died in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and is buried there. NICOL, Charlie WWII Charlie was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1922. He served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in Canada, England, and France during World War II. He suffered a head wound in 1945 and was medically discharged. Charlie married and had 4 children. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for sixty-four years before he passed away and was buried in British Columbia. NICOL, William WWI William was born in Dunfermline, Scotland in 1889 but came to Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1908. During WWI, he joined the Canadian Army and served as a Private in Canada, England, France, Belgium, and Germany with the 15th Battalion and the 96th Scottish Battalion, 1st C.O.R.D. He married and had four children. William died in 1977 and is buried in Quill Lake Cemetery.
