The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 297 MUIR, Theodore Henry “Ted” WWI & WWII Ted was born on December 5, 1900 in Kingston, Jamaica and came with his mother and siblings to Saskatchewan in 1909. He was a single farmer from Viscount when he signed up to serve in World War I on March 20, 1916. Ted and his brother, Emile, enlisted together in Canada while his brother, Frank, enlisted in Australia. Ted made it to England where it was discovered that he was only 16, so he was sent back to Canada. His enlistment papers showed his date of birth as December 5, 1897. He served three years with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. Ted made teaching his career, mostly in Saskatchewan, and he and his wife, Jean Colhoun, raised four children before retiring to Saskatoon where he died in 1971. MUNDELL, Alfred James WWI Alfred was born on April 6, 1889 in Snow Road, ON. He was a telegraph operator in Plunkett, SK when he signed up on August 14, 1915 in Smith Falls, ON. He served with the 42nd Regiment of the 77th Overseas Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. His mother, E. Mundell, was listed as next of kin. MUNDELL, Henry WWII Henry, only son of Alfred Mundell, settled in Garrick, Saskatchewan after serving in the Army during World War II. His father and Uncle Wesson had enlisted in World War I.
