The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 295 MUIR, Charles Donald “Don” WWII Don grew up in Saskatchewan on a farm in the Easterlea district, just north of Viscount where he was born. He joined the Army and served during WWII, after which he obtained an engineering degree from McGill University in Montreal, QC. He was married with four children and was employed by Bell Telephone until his retirement in 1984. Don’s three uncles, Emile, Frank and Ted, served in World War I. MUIR, Emile Drury WWI Emile was born in Kingston, Jamaica. Emile and his brothers, Frank and Ted, all enlisted in World War I. Emile served from 1916 until his discharge in 1918. In 1923, Emile contracted scarlet fever and he died at the age of 21. His nephew, Charles Donald, enlisted and served in World War II. MUIR, Frank WWI Frank was born in Kingston, Jamaica. Frank had come with his mother and four siblings to the Easterlea district of Saskatchewan where he farmed until he enlisted in Australia in 1915. After the war, he came back to Canada. His brothers, Emile and Ted, enlisted in Canada.
