The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 27 AUCKLAND, Donald Edgar WWII Donald was born in Viscount, Saskatchewan and attended Auckland School, north of Viscount. His father, James Victor Auckland, was the prime organizer of this country school. Donald and his brother, Reg, both joined the Royal Canadian Air Force with Donald serving overseas. AUCKLAND, Reginald Gordon “Reg” WWII Reg was born in Viscount, Saskatchewan and attended the Auckland School, north of Viscount. His parents were Victor James and Caroline (Kirkland Dixon) Auckland. Reg and his brother, Donald, both joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in World War II. AUSTENSON, Oliver Henry WWII Oliver was born in Viscount, SK in September 1915. He enlisted in September 1941, served as a F/Lt. with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Canada and England, and was discharged on June 9, 1945. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross. Oliver was a dairy and grain farmer very active in 4-H and was also past president (1950-57) of Viscount Legion Branch 271. He was a member there for fifty-six years and was awarded his 50-year service medal. He married Lillian Borden and they raised five girls. Oliver and his wife retired to Saskatoon, where he passed away on January 25, 2005.
