The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 25 ARNST, Arthur F. “Art” WWII Art was born in Canada in 1923. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in November 1942 and served as a Leading Aircraftman in Canada, England and Germany until his discharge in March 1946. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Art joined the Nipawin Legion Branch in 1946 where he was past secretary/treasurer. He transferred to Viscount Legion Branch 271 in 1958 and left in 1965. Art was the Beaver Lumber store manager and he raised a family with his wife, Florence. ASHTON, Alfred WWI Alfred was born in Oldham, Lancashire, England on February 1, 1885. He enlisted in Lanigan, Saskatchewan on March 30, 1916 and was discharged on the 25th of October that same year as he was physically unfit. Alfred lived in Viscount, SK with his wife, Christina, and he worked as a butcher. AUBIN, Antonio WWI Antonio was born in Sainte-Sophie, QC on December 29, 1897. He enlisted in Regina, SK on June 5, 1918 and served overseas with 12 M.D. 1 Depot Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment. Antonio was a farmer from Viscount, SK and his father’s name was Wilfred, also originally from Sainte-Sophie, QC.
