The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 255 MARKLEY, John Anthony WWII John was born in Plunkett, SK and grew up on the family farm north of there. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy and his brother, Lyall, in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Their father, David, had enlisted in the Army and served in WWI. After his dad died in 1926, John’s brother, Bill, worked the farm until the family moved to Saskatoon. John raised four children with his wife, Ruth Arne. MARKLEY, Lyall Francis WWII Lyall was born in Plunkett, SK. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and his brother, John, served in the Royal Canadian Navy. Their father, David, enlisted in the Army and served in WWI. Their brother, Bill, married Mary Roper, whose brothers, Fred, Reg, Bert and Ernest, also enlisted. Lyall married Nadia Onishenko and they raised a family of ten. MARSHALL, Charles WWII Charles was born in Clair, Saskatchewan. He joined the Canadian Army and served in Canada during WWII. Charles, a farmer, married and had two children. He has passed away and is buried in Regina, Saskatchewan.
