He joined the Army and served with the Canadian Infantry Corps, while his brothers, Earl and Henry, joined the Navy. Eugene married Kathleen Colhoun of Viscount and they had six children. Eugene and Kathleen were living in Fort St. John, BC. LATOURNEAU, Henry WWII Henry was born in Edam, SK. With his brother, Earl, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy while their brother, Eugene, joined the Army. While in the Navy, Henry met and married Lois Tyson, with whom he had a daughter. He passed away in 1961. LEIGH (LEYH), Doug Herbert WWII Doug was born in Plunkett, SK on April 25, 1924. When he was born, his surname was Leyh but the nurse wrote down Leigh and so it remained. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in July 1943 and served as a Leading Aircraftsman in Canada, England and Holland. Discharged on July 17, 1946, he was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, the War Medal 1939-45, and the Dutch Medal of Remembrance. With his wife, Clara Graf, he raised four daughters and farmed in Plunkett, SK while also serving as the postmaster. Doug was past president, past secretary/treasurer and poppy wreath chairman for the Viscount Legion Branch 271.
